I just wanted to say thanks for all the support and nice things you guys have said about Tone Box Digital. I know we are on the right track and believe we have created a new business model for the music business… one that allows bands to make a living doing what they love, making great music! It’s not over yet- so vote here! But I just wanted to say Thanks for all the...

Free Music Friday : "It's Friday" Edition

Nope.  No snazzy titles this week… just “It’s Friday”.  It’s been a crazy few weeks and I haven’t had a chance to really scope out new music as much as I would like.  Even more so, find good free music to give you guys.  I do apologize and most likely will miss next Friday..  Not sure yet, maybe I’ll surprise you with an end of the year wrap up!  We’ll See. This week is a mixed bag.  Not saying these are all great, but knowing we all have different tastes in music I wanted to put up some options!  Enjoy. First up is a band that walks the Shoegazer style of Pavement & Sonic Youth… The band is called Light Sleepers and I do dig this track! Light Sleepers “Sandrine’s Paris” (mp3) from “We Are Gathering Dust” (Smalltown America) Buy at iTunes Music Store Buy at Rhapsody Stream from Rhapsody Buy at Puretracks More On This Album Another cool pop/alt track… notice the Pop is first. Mellow but good. Kiss Me At The Gate “The Very Thought of You” (mp3) from “Tape & Scissors” (Superphonic Records) More On This Album A little Canada action, eh? In the sort of emo/punk rock style… good track. Passenger Action “This Position” (mp3) from “Acoustic Blueprints” (Smallman) More On This...

Top 10 Albums Of 2008 That Didn't Come Out In 2008

Yeah, it’s weird. I know. Since it’s typical to do a top 10 list for each year I decided to change it up a bit… Here’s the deal- none of these albums came out in 2008 but are on my top 10 list of the ones I listened to in 2008. Confused yet? 10.  Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin IV 9.   U2 – Joshua Tree 8.   Bob Marley & The Wailers – Legend 7.   The Beatles – The White Album 6.   Guns N’ Roses – Appetite For Destruction 5.   Beastie Boys – License To Ill 4.   Foo Fighters – Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace 3.   Pixies – Surfer Rosa & Come On Pilgrim (duel set) 2.   Michael Jackson – Thriller Michael wouldn’t let me embed his video- but here’s a link to Youtube. 1.   Nirvana – Nevermind There you have it.  That’s my every day list I’d say.  Yes, go ahead and judge me– it’s ok, I probably don’t like everything that you do! But that is the joy of it, right? Those artists are in my playlists all the time- usually mixed up with some new artists.  Maybe I’ll compile my favorite tracks of 2008 at some point… maybe. What about you?  What are your favorite albums that didn’t come out in...
