Election 2008 : You Think You Know Me

Obama

Well, some of you do.  However, being in a new arena with social media my sarcasm, talk and tweets can come across in many ways.  Some facts, so you guys don’t have to ask who I voted for.

  • I was undecided until the night before on who I was voting for.
  • I was 100% Obama just a month ago.
  • I was 50/50 less than two weeks ago.
  • When it came time to vote- I voted for McCain.
  • I am not a Republican.
  • I am not a Democrat.
  • I am a Christian.
  • I am an American.
  • I chose McCain because of experience.
  • I chose McCain because he would have given my small business more of a chance to be successful.
  • I do not want to redistribute my hard work.
  • I want to decide who I help.  It is my job, not the Government’s.
  • I want to continue deciding and providing the best healthcare to my children.
  • I give money to many organizations that I know give to the less fortunate.
  • I am 100% proud that America has come this far to elect a bi-racial president.
  • I support Obama.
  • I will not be a liberal smart-ass and take cheap shots at Obama- unlike the last 4 years towards Bush.

My prayers and best wishes for the coming years.  I pray that Change can actually happen and that we as a nation can come together.

<sincerity done, back to my sarcastic, fun-loving self>

Great post. I spent most of the campaign being 50/50. I respect McCain a great deal, but the tone of the campaign got so negative and ugly. I hated the unspoken assumptions in the “Joe the Plumber” and “Real American” themes, so I voted for Obama.
