Is Twitter Killing the Blogger Kingdom?
// September 15th, 2008 // life, Technology
I was just thinking about how much less that I blog these days. I Twitter my random thoughts and structured thoughts more than anything. Because I twitter, sometimes I feel I don’t need to blog my thoughts because I got them off my chest.
I’m curious how many people blog less because they Twitter? How many people never blogged before but love to Twitter?
Any patterns? Just curious if anyone else has thoughts on Twitter vs. Blogging?

Twitter helps separate my personal life from my blog. It is the appropriate outlet to convey a slice of my personal life to my readers, while my blog provides a focused outlet for creative thought.
I think it is true. I haven’t been twittering but do follow them and notice the change in blog posts. After all, many quick blog posts were short and sweet.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that if people do their blog reading through a feed they are much less likely to comment than if they actually go to the blog.
Sean- makes sense… I’ve definitely blurred the lines between personal and creative life.
Joan- definitely agree on the commenting because of feed reading… I’m guilty for sure. Sometimes I feel like I “need” to blog because I haven’t which usually ends up being a lame post on my part.
Thanks for the thoughts!
Hi, I found your blog on this new directory of WordPress Blogs at blackhatbootcamp.com/listofwordpressblogs. I dont know how your blog came up, must have been a typo, i duno. Anyways, I just clicked it and here I am. Your blog looks good. Have a nice day. James.
I wrote a blog entry about how, in my opinion, Twitter sucks. I guess I’m just that much older — all you youngins with ADD — Twitter is right up your alley. The marketing gurus for that company sure hit it on the head. Of course, I have more time on my hands to actually formulate complete sentences and paragraphs. Crazy, no?
I blog a lot less since I’ve been on Twitter. Twitter is more for my “stream of consciousness” stuff, but I still like to blog.
Now I’m trying to blog more often, but with shorter post, and I’ll see how that works.
